Who we are
Symptom Atlas ( symptomatlas.com) publishes free, general-interest guides about symptoms, body areas, and treatment overviews. Our content is for information only — it is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
What this policy covers
This page explains what information may be collected when you use the website, how it may be used, and the choices you have. By using Symptom Atlas, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
We do not require an account, and we do not ask you to submit personal health details to read our guides.
- Usage data. Like most websites, our servers and hosting providers may automatically receive technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Analytics (optional). If Google Analytics is enabled, we receive aggregated reports about traffic and engagement. We do not use analytics to sell personal profiles.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we receive whatever you include in that message (for example your email address and the text of your question).
How we use information
- To operate, secure, and improve the website
- To understand which pages are useful and fix problems
- To respond if you contact us
- To comply with law where required
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and local storage
We may store a theme preference (light or dark mode) in your browser's local storage so the site looks the way you left it. That preference stays on your device.
If analytics is turned on, Google Analytics may set cookies or similar technologies. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out tools and privacy extensions.
Third-party services
We may use trusted providers to host the site, deliver pages, and (when enabled) measure traffic. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Ads, if ever shown, would be governed by the relevant ad network policies as well.
Children
Symptom Atlas is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it where appropriate.
Medical disclaimer
Nothing on this site replaces a conversation with a qualified clinician. Do not ignore professional medical advice or delay seeking care because of something you read here. If you think you have an emergency, contact local emergency services.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
